Black Trans Mutual Aid Group is a grassroots community organization based in New York City that is actively fighting the racist, systemic, economic oppression faced by Black Trans and Gender-Non-Conforming people across the world. We crowdfund virtually for Black TGNC people in need of monetary assistance globally and provide free food, resources and safe spaces on the ground in NYC for Black Trans, Black Queers, Black Women and Black Femmes. We believe Black Trans people are the heart and soul of this world and deserve basic needs, safety, love and liberation as much as anyone else.

Songs of Resistance is a semi-monthly concert series led by Jae Carelli that organizes artists to ignite real change.

Bandung Duo

Comprised of violinist Sarah Ying Ma (they/she) and violist Carlos Walker (they/he), Bandung Duo is a string duo building Afro-Asian and Third World solidarity through revolutionary art and collaborative projects. Named after the historic 1955 Bandung Conference in Indonesia, which united 29 nations across Africa and Asia to foster political solidarity and action, Bandung Duo is founded on the core belief in art as an inherently community-based project. Bandung’s creative strategy includes interdisciplinary collaboration, educational outreach, commissions of new art, and mutual aid for the community. In March, the Duo organized a week-long residency in Cincinnati, OH, which included a benefit concert for a local community aid organization, collaborating with a local musician-activist, and volunteering in mutual aid events. During this period, Bandung gave educational presentations on art-activism at public schools across the city, and served as guest coaches for the Nouveau Program, a music program for K-12 underrepresented youth. In June 2026, Bandung Duo also presents the world premiere of their first commission project: PROJECT ASSATA, in honor of the late Assata Shakur. Taking place in Brooklyn, NYC, through three musical commissions, two visual arts commissions, and one visual art contribution, PROJECT ASSATA explores BIPOC artists’ responses to Shakur’s legacy with the Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army, as well as her impact on their respective communities’ work in change-making.
